An Important Announcement

by Allie Johnson, Executive Director
Today marks another World Mental Health Day and I’m reminded again of just how hard Perinatal Support Washington is working to serve people struggling with their mental health while destigmatizing the conversation around it in our society. Thank you for your partnership in this mission throughout the years.
My love for this organization makes my announcement today so difficult, but after much thought, I’ve decided to say farewell to PS-WA after four incredible years. My last day will be November 1st.
We have accomplished what we set out to do together. In four years, through a global pandemic and mental health crisis, we have grown from a primarily volunteer-run organization to a thriving institution with 22 staff members whose programs serve thousands of people across Washington every year. I am confident that PS-WA will continue to thrive in the next stage of its life cycle, and I look forward to cheering on the staff, volunteers, partners, donors, and members who have lifted our work and helped us reach new heights.
As far as next steps go, our Board of Directors is forming a hiring committee to find the next leader for our new chapter. This process will involve our staff and community to ensure that the process centers equity and lives our values. Please feel free to contact our Executive Committee anytime throughout this process at officers@perinatalsupport.org.
“Under Allie’s leadership, we have dramatically increased the reach and impact we have on individuals and families across our state. Allie’s tenure has been marked by the implementation of a bold strategic plan that increases access to care for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color and other systemically marginalized individuals and communities, and a deepened commitment to antiracism and equity at all levels. We are incredibly grateful for her immense contribution, leaving PS-WA thriving and poised for ongoing success.”
-Maggie Meyers, PS-WA Board Chair
I will always feel indebted to this organization for the resources and empathetic care provided to me during the most difficult moments of my life as I battled Postpartum Psychosis. So many supporters played a personal part in the resources I was able to access and the support I felt throughout recovery. I will forever be thankful for that.
Thank you again for all of your support throughout the years. If you would like to keep in touch, please reach out!
With so much gratitude,

Allie Lindsay Johnson, Executive Director
