These monthly consultation groups are for WA state professionals doing 1:1 peer support or facilitating support groups. She spent 10 years as a Co-Occurring Disorders clinician in the Kitsap Mental Health Pathways program and 14 years providing parenting support through the Kitsap County Drug Court. \nCurrently\, as Clinical Supervisor of the Kitsap site for the University of Washington’s Parent-Child Assistance Program (PCAP) and statewide training manager\, Linda applies research on early adversity\, early childhood and brain development and substance use disorders to improve professional practices. She is also an active speaker for Kitsap Strong\, facilitating discussions on best practices utilizing the NEAR sciences—neuroscience\, epigenetics\, ACEs\, and resilience as\nwell as the Science of Hope. \nLinda has 30 years of experience teaching at Olympic College and has provided staff development training across Washington state since 1992. In 2024\, she received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Kitsap County Human Rights Commission and is a Washington State Hope Ambassador. \nLinda’s mission is to help individuals\, particularly those affected by substance use\, understand the impact of childhood adversity and move toward healthier\, more stable lifestyles and parenting. \n

SUMMARY:Foundations in Perinatal Mental Health
DESCRIPTION:Priority registration for WA state professionals who serve families in Benton\, Franklin\, Stevens & Ferry counties. A limited number of spots are available for WA state professionals serving other counties. \nThis training covers key concepts and practices in the prevention\, identification and treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders\n(PMADs)\, as well as how to link parents to support and treatment. In this training we will discuss the risk factors\, etiology\, and\nsymptomatology of PMADs\, high risk populations for experiencing PMADs\, medication in the perinatal period\, screening tools\, effective referral\, and resource and referrals. She received her bachelor’s degree from Morgan State University and obtained her Masters in Social Work from University of Maryland Baltimore. She has been trained in various aspects of perinatal and conceiving partners’ mental health. She is perinatal mental health certified (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International and Seleni Institute. Lyndsey focuses on empowerment with self-compassion and acceptance through life adjustments associated with reproductive experiences like pregnancy\, infertility\, endometriosis\, pregnancy/infant loss etc. She uses her passion for writing blended with clinical expertise to create healing narrative therapy tools and help women tell their own stories. She provides training to direct care staff on women’s issues like perinatal mental health and domestic violence and anti-burnout wellness workshops. One of Lyndsey’s favorite quotes is from Maya Angelou: “You may not control all the events that happen to you\, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”\n
