SUMMARY:Peer/Parent Support Training
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to effectively identify\, support and care for parents experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. \nThis two-day training is appropriate for a range of providers who work with childbearing people including peers\, home visitors\, doulas\, community health workers\, case managers\, SUD providers\, midwives\, and more.   \nThis training is developed by Perinatal Support WA to help direct service providers support parents who are currently experiencing or are at risk for perinatal mental health complications in a 1:1 model. This training is designed for peers or care providers who are not mental health providers and provides training in culturally respectful screening\, evidenced based behavioral health support appropriate for non-mental health providers. This training will be followed by monthly consultation calls to create a community of practice\,  support additional learning\, and practice skills introduced in this two day training.   \nLocation: Zoom \nFacilitators: Mia Edidin\, LICSW & Crystal Gurney \nDates: Monday-Tuesday\, September 12-13\, 2022 \nTime: 9:00am-4:30pm PST \nTraining Objectives: \n\nProvide meaningful and respectful screening\nEffectively make referrals and support parents to access resources\nLearn to create culturally attuned wellness plans that include effective self-care and wellness strategies to treat perinatal mental health complications\nIntroduce and discuss mental health care in culturally respectful ways\nIntroduce and teach coping skills and activities appropriate to common perinatal mental health concerns.  \nListen to and support families with barriers or reservations about formal mental health therapy\nWalk with families as they navigate complicated mental health care systems\n\nREGISTER NOW\nContinuing Education Credit: \n\n11.75 CEUs approved for MSWs\, MAs\, MFTs.\nThis Program has been approved for 11.75 CEUs for Licensed Social Workers\, Mental Health Counselors and Marriage and Family Therapists by the Washington State Society for Clinical Social Work.\n11.75 Contact hours approved for RNs: Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing\, Provider Number 17084 for 11.75 contact hours.\n\nCOST: \n$275 General Registration \n$225 PS-WA Member \nWith funding from Best Starts for Kids Initiative\, we are able to provide King Co based programs attendance free of charge\,  please complete this application form. SUMMARY:10 Month Advanced Perinatal Mental Health Training & Case Consultation
DESCRIPTION:FOR: Mental Health Therapists in WA state \nThis 10 month series offers a forum to learn from experienced perinatal mental health specialists\, delving into PMH topic areas through both didactic training and case study discussions. If you have attended our 2 day Best Practices in Prevention\, Identification\, and Treatment of Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders Training\, this 10 month training is a great next step in continuing to learn about perinatal mental health issues. \nThis training is suitable for all mental health practitioners and requires a 10 month commitment. Each session will be 2 hours long and will consist of:  1 hour training on a specific PMAD topic and 1 hour of case consultation.  Case consultation will help clinicians implement and incorporate the knowledge and skills learned through the reading and the training. \nTrainer:  Michelle Anderson\, LMHC\, PMH-C \nDates and times:  2nd Wednesday of the month beginning September 14th @9am-11am PST\n\n2022: September 14th\, October 12th\, November 9th\, December 14th\n2023: January 11th\, February 8th\, March 8th\, April 12th\, May 10th\, *June 7th (first Wednesday) \nLocation: Zoom \nContinuing Education  \n\n20 CEUs approved for LICSWs\, LMHCs\, and LMFTs.\nThis Program has been approved for 20 CEUs for Licensed Social Workers\, Mental Health Counselors and Marriage and Family Therapists by the Washington State Society for Clinical Social Work.\nThis training is approved as an advanced course for the Postpartum Support International Certification in Perinatal Mental Health.\nContinuing Education is provided by Perinatal Support of Washington at the completion of the program.  CEUs are based on attendance (2 CEUs per 2 hour meeting).\n\nCost: $75/consult session \n\nTo reserve your spot please pay $150 and make monthly payments\, or pay in full ($750)\nIf you choose to make monthly payments you will be required to set up an auto payment via credit card. You will receive an invoice on November 1st. In order to apply\, you must meet the following criteria: \n\nBe a master’s level mental health clinician IN Whatcom County in a position to provide direct counseling services.\nAccept Apple Health and Medicaid insurance\nHave the capacity to enroll new clients in 2022-23\n\nThe deadline to apply for a scholarship is August 15.
