This closed group is designed for mental health professionals seeking to enhance their clinical skills and create a supportive\, collaborative learning environment. Michelle provides counseling to women through their winding journey of motherhood as well as supervision\, consultation and training related to perinatal mental health throughout the Pacific Northwest.

SUMMARY:Foundations in Perinatal Mental Health
DESCRIPTION:Priority registration for WA state professionals who serve families in Benton\, Franklin\, Stevens & Ferry counties. A limited number of spots are available for WA state professionals serving other counties. \nThis training covers key concepts and practices in the prevention\, identification and treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders\n(PMADs)\, as well as how to link parents to support and treatment. In this training we will discuss the risk factors\, etiology\, and\nsymptomatology of PMADs\, high risk populations for experiencing PMADs\, medication in the perinatal period\, screening tools\, effective referral\, and resource and referrals. Community discussion for each county will be held in the afternoon. \nDate: Wednesday\, March 26\, 2025 \nTime: 9am-5pm PST \nLocation: Zoom \nCost: FREE \nTrainer: Lyndsey Williams\, MSW\, LICSW\, PMH-C \nLearning Objectives: \nUpon completion of this training\, participants will be able to: \n\nLearn about the Spectrum of Perinatal Mental Health\nScreen a parent for risk factors leading to perinatal mood and anxiety disorders by identifying at least four risk factors.\nScreen a parent for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders by identifying at least three symptoms.\nDescribe medications used during pregnancy and breastfeeding to treat perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.\nLearn about local resources for new parent support.\n\nRegistration Deadline: Tuesday\, March 25 at 12pm. \nRegister Now\nContinuing Education: \n\n6.5 CEUs approved for LICSW\, LMHC\, LMFT\n6.5 Contact Hours approved for RNs: Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing\, Provider Number 17084 for 6.5 contact hours.\n\nThis free training is offered by Perinatal Support WA through a grant from Strengthening Families Washington at the Department of Children\, Youth\, and Families (DCYF). \nQuestions regarding the training\, please email: training@perinatalsupport.org \nAbout the trainer: \nLyndsey Williams (she/her) is a licensed clinical social worker (LICSW) located in Seattle\, WA. She currently practices in Washington\, Idaho\, Maryland and Washington DC. She has worked in various areas of maternal child health since 2012 and has provided reproductive psychotherapy since 2017. She received her bachelor’s degree from Morgan State University and obtained her Masters in Social Work from University of Maryland Baltimore. She has been trained in various aspects of perinatal and conceiving partners’ mental health. She is perinatal mental health certified (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International and Seleni Institute. Lyndsey focuses on empowerment with self-compassion and acceptance through life adjustments associated with reproductive experiences like pregnancy\, infertility\, endometriosis\, pregnancy/infant loss etc. She uses her passion for writing blended with clinical expertise to create healing narrative therapy tools and help women tell their own stories. She provides training to direct care staff on women’s issues like perinatal mental health and domestic violence and anti-burnout wellness workshops. One of Lyndsey’s favorite quotes is from Maya Angelou: “You may not control all the events that happen to you\, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”\n
