SUMMARY:Somatic and Nature-Based Approaches for Perinatal Mental Health in Immigrant Communities Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Open to WA state professionals who work with perinatal families in WA state. \nResearch\, data\, and storytelling from around the world tells us that connecting to the body and connecting to nature can bring healing opportunities across cultures. Addressing perinatal mental health with these approaches opens up opportunities to connect with wellbeing in a way that is responsive and attuned to the experiences that people from all over the world may bring with them. In this 90 minute webinar\, we will explore the approach\, applications\, and effectiveness of techniques such as EMDR – Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing; MBSR Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction; and many others. She is an EMDRIA-certified EMDR therapist\, a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Therapist\, and the founder and clinical director of Mente Counseling & Consultation\, where she provides trauma-focused psychotherapy\, consultation\, and community-based trainings. Martha has been a leader in community mental health programs\, supporting clinical teams and integrating infant mental health principles into program\ndevelopment and care delivery. Bilingual in English and Spanish\, Martha is passionate about strengthening community systems of care that nurture the well-being of birthing parents\, infants\, and families.
