DESCRIPTION:Every second Tuesday of each month from February – June 2026. \n\n10am-11:30am PT\n\nThese groups will provide support for peer supporters\, interactive learning\, networking with other perinatal peer supporters across the state\, and time for questions. These monthly consultation groups are for WA state professionals doing 1:1 peer support or facilitating support groups. Bring your challenges and questions about peer support for perinatal families.  Zoom link and reminders sent out monthly and you may choose to attend any session(s). SUMMARY:Free Perinatal Mental Health Certification
DESCRIPTION:We’re recruiting 30 mental health providers to earn their PMH-C and begin seeing Medicaid patients. \nWe’re seeking licensed mental health providers in WA State who want to specialize in perinatal care and expand access for Medicaid patients. Once PMH-C certified\, the cohort will possess the skills needed to help families experiencing mental health conditions in the perinatal period. We especially encourage applications from providers of color and those working with underserved or hard- to-reach communities.  \nWHAT’S INCLUDED:  \n20 hours of paid training  \n\nRequired coursework for the PMH-C application\, provided by Perinatal Support WA (PS-WA) through Postpartum Support International (PSI) \n\nApplication support  \n\nGuidance through the PMH-C application process (offered through Postpartum Support International) \n\nExam costs covered  \n\nTest fees and necessary travel to the testing site are paid \n\nMedicaid paneling support  \n\nHelp navigating the Medicaid enrollment process once you’re certified \n\nCompletion bonus  \n\nFinancial incentive for completing certification and Medicaid paneling \n\nKEY DEADLINES:  \nApplications due by May 15th  \nParticipants are expected to pass the PMH-C exam and begin the Medicaid enrollment process by September 29th\, 2026. \nIf you are interested\, please complete the APPLICATION FORM.

If you are neither\, please complete the survey for more information about sliding scale options. \nThe Creating a Nest of Care: Perinatal Loss for Birthworkers Monthly Consults (NOC) follows and accompanies the 3-Day Foundational training on Perinatal and Infant Loss (register separately here.) \nThis series encapsulates what happens when loss of life is intertwined with the womb and birthing.  Join 30 local birth workers in a nine-month commitment to growing the web of care necessary to support someone through this loss.  Each month\, we will delve deeper into specific topics around supporting families through perinatal loss and bereavement- from disposition choices\, to shrouding\, to donor milk options and more.    \nCreating a Nest Cohort is a 9-month project provided for free in partnership with Imani’s Light and Perinatal Support WA for BIPOC birthworkers serving families in King County. Please note this training is free for BIPOC King County birth workers. If you are neither\, please complete the survey for more information about sliding scale options. \n“Birthworkers” are defined as those who are helpers/providers/carers working with people during the childbearing period. Marquita has over 15 years of serving BIPOC families. She has served as a full spectrum doula (birth\, postpartum\, and bereavement)\, breastfeeding peer counselor\, childbirth educator\, perinatal bereavement group facilitator\, and is a trained midwife. She aims to inspire and empower people to show up authentically\, while fiercely advocating for those navigating spaces that are not traditionally occupied by people of color. \n  \n  \nLa Tonia Bussell-Packard (they/she)\, Parent Resilience Specialist\, Traditional Midwife is a queer Black femme who supports pregnant and parenting families as a Parent Resilience Specialist in King County. They serve as an encouraging resource and witness for parents navigating the perinatal mental health landscape by using their firsthand experience as a parent who has lived with anxiety and depression. La Tonia knows firsthand the barriers that exist for Black and queer folx seeking support for their mental health. La Tonia has experienced personal and professional loss\, which allows them to offer supportive tools and skills that are based on lived experience and shared community ways of ‘knowing’ and processing grief and loss.  \nLa Tonia has spent the last 7+ years advocating for families\, attending births\, and providing compassionate care as a birth doula and student midwife. They graduated from midwifery school in June 2021 and now practice and attend births as a traditional midwife. In all their work\, La Tonia centers Black\, Indigenous\, and QTPOC families in their role as a midwife\, doula\, and peer. They use the framework and lens of reproductive justice\, the intersections of race\, class\, gender/sexuality\, and ability\, and radical rest politics when supporting families in their community. \n  \n \n

SUMMARY:From NICU to Home: Supporting Perinatal Mental Health and Neurodivergent Families
DESCRIPTION:This training is open to WA state professionals who serve perinatal families in WA state.  \nThis training invites participants to learn about the unique experiences of neurodivergent individuals during the perinatal period\, and in post- NICU context. Participants will learn about the intersection of neurodiversity and perinatal health and how it impacts the hospital-to-home transition for NICU families. Training will explore how neurodivergent processing\, sensory needs\, communication styles\, and executive functioning may influence feeding interactions with an infant\, medical follow-through\, and engagement with early intervention’s parent-coaching model. America earned her Master of Social Work from North Carolina Central University in 2015 and has since specialized in perinatal mental health\, trauma recovery\, and somatic approaches to healing. She completed Postpartum Support International’s Components of Care training in 2019\, further deepening her expertise in supporting birthing individuals and families experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. \n\n\n\n\n\nShe is trained in EMDR\, Internal Family Systems (IFS)\, and Trauma-Focused CBT\, with extensive experience supporting individuals through PMADs\, birth trauma\, grief and loss\, and complex trauma. As the founder of suNu Healing Collectively\, America has built a thriving practice centered on Black and Brown millennial women\, emphasizing the importance of equity\, psychological safety\, and embodied healing in both clinical and community spaces. \nIn her role as a Clinical Supervisor\, America integrates reflective supervision\, trauma-focused models\, and a strengths-based approach. Her passion lies in not only guiding clinicians through skill development\, but also encouraging them to unlearn harmful systemic narratives and embody practices that honor both their clients’ humanity and their own.
