Groups are facilitated by former birth and postpartum doula Lily Ostle\, who has ten years of experience helping families. Topics include\, but are not limited to: baby feeding\, family sleep\, co-parenting and single parenting dynamics\, nutrition\, pregnancy trimesters\, birth stories\, and developmental milestones. Becoming a new parent can be overwhelming\, and it often takes time to adjust to changing roles and unfamiliar experiences. Good support can help ease the transition\, especially if it provides a place for new mothers to come together and express the reality of how hard parenthood can be. Adjusting to Parenthood is a place for women to feel heard and to be honest about the highs and lows of motherhood. It offers a supportive environment in which the full range of postpartum experiences is welcomed\, and the everyday realities of being a new mom are understood. \nAt the end of each group\, we offer a 15-minute question and answer on infant feeding\, infant development\, and infant and adult mental health. Come and get your questions answered! The group is appropriate for any mother who needs support to vent\, to process\, to hear other women’s stories\, and to learn that she is not alone. Expectant moms and moms with babies in arms are welcome. Our goal is to create a safe space for sharing struggles and triumphs during the transition to parenthood. All babies and children are welcome\, as well as all parents/guardians. Groups are facilitated by former birth and postpartum doula Lily Ostle\, who has ten years of experience helping families. Topics include\, but are not limited to: baby feeding\, family sleep\, co-parenting and single parenting dynamics\, nutrition\, pregnancy trimesters\, birth stories\, and developmental milestones. Becoming a new parent can be overwhelming\, and it often takes time to adjust to changing roles and unfamiliar experiences. Good support can help ease the transition\, especially if it provides a place for new mothers to come together and express the reality of how hard parenthood can be. Adjusting to Parenthood is a place for women to feel heard and to be honest about the highs and lows of motherhood. It offers a supportive environment in which the full range of postpartum experiences is welcomed\, and the everyday realities of being a new mom are understood. \nAt the end of each group\, we offer a 15-minute question and answer on infant feeding\, infant development\, and infant and adult mental health. Come and get your questions answered! The group is appropriate for any mother who needs support to vent\, to process\, to hear other women’s stories\, and to learn that she is not alone. Expectant moms and moms with babies in arms are welcome. We have toys and space for crawlers and walkers and we welcome moms of older kiddos (up to 2 years) but we do not have separate childcare. \nNo Fee while we are meeting virutally

DESCRIPTION:JOIN PERINATAL SUPPORT WASHINGTON as we host a Virtual Climb Out of the Darkness® the world’s largest event raising awareness and shining a light on the most common pregnancy and childbirth complication: perinatal mood and anxiety disorders like postpartum depression\, postpartum anxiety and OCD\, postpartum post-traumatic stress\, postpartum psychosis\, perinatal bipolar mood disorders\, and pregnancy depression and anxiety.   The Climb is a community walk and international fundraiser for survivors\, providers\, and the community to come together.\n \n  \nLocation and Dates: \n\nA walk or hike near you during the week of July 20-27th\n\nOn Zoom Saturday\, July 25\, 2020 10am-11am\n\nHOW TO GET INVOLVED: \nJOIN:  Sign up to join our team.
