DESCRIPTION:R esiliently\nE nduring\nP ostpartum\nSupport Group \nWe are looking for adults in the first years of parenting who find themselves in need of: support\, community\, resources\, and assistance in their navigation of this new phase of life. Some struggling in the first year of their child’s life may be diagnosed with Postpartum Depression or Postpartum Anxiety. Time phase of life poses struggles for any gender parent/grandparent of biological/adoptive/foster children in their first years of life. Scientific studies have shown that inclusion of group therapy in their mental health support increases their outcomes and healing. Many others struggle with the isolation of similar issues and are also in need of support. No matter which of these you are\, this is a space for you. We are starting a Connection Support group for new parents of all kinds. Let’s work together to help you work through this phase of life and discover where your parenting path is leading you; with your head held high\, and tools in your metaphorical tool belt to handle this parenting road\, and find a place of peace. \nWho is this group for? Primary caregivers of children under 3(ish) years old\, who are experiencing symptoms of: guilt or feelings of self-doubt feelings of exhaustion\, loneliness\, worry\, and anxiety changes to and challenges with our relationships (partner\, friends\, work\, and more) the paradox of loving our baby AND struggling with the loss of freedom and identity desires to better understand and care for our babies the invisibility of our daily accomplishments financial concerns\, going back to work\, and so much more the unexpected difficulty of this period and the loss of our hopes for experience (childbirth\, work leave\, etc) \nTime(s) : Thursdays 9:30-11am\nHow often: Weekly Sept 15- Nov 17\nLocation : Bainbridge Waterfront Park\nCost : Free \nPlease Contact Laural Casal to reserve your spot lcasal@wellnesscounselinginc.com \nIf you are interested in an online only (telehealth) group\, please contact me so I get get you on the list for when that starts up. Adjusting to Parenthood is a place for women to feel heard and to be honest about the highs and lows of motherhood. It offers a supportive environment in which the full range of postpartum experiences is welcomed\, and the everyday realities of being a new mom are understood. \nAt the end of each group\, we offer a 15-minute question and answer on infant feeding\, infant development\, and infant and adult mental health. Come and get your questions answered! The group is appropriate for any mother who needs support to vent\, to process\, to hear other women’s stories\, and to learn that she is not alone. Expectant moms and moms with babies in arms are welcome. We have toys and space for crawlers and walkers and we welcome moms of older kiddos (up to 2 years) but we do not have separate childcare. \nNo Fee while we are meeting virutally
