SUMMARY:Black Moms in Loss Support Group
DESCRIPTION:The Black Moms in Loss Support Group provides connections for individuals that identify as Black mothers grieving the loss of a pregnancy or infant. This group intends to help bereaved mothers find support and provide helpful information to help them navigate the pain of their loss.  Losing a baby can be a lonely experience. PSI understands creating a safe space for Black moms is essential as they encounter unique experiences in miscarriage\, infant loss\, and infertility. We empower help seekers to share their journey to inspire others or utilize the group setting as an avenue for healing and hope. We are here to help\, and you are not alone. We do not allow group observations by students or professionals. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. \n2nd & 4th Thursdays at 5pm PST \nRegister here

SUMMARY:Birth Trauma Support for Black\, Indigenous\, People of Color (BIPOC) Birthers
DESCRIPTION:4th Wednesdays at 7:30PM (EST)/4:30PM (PST) \nLed by trained peer facilitators\, this group is for any Black\, Indigenous\, Person of Color (BIPOC) who has experienced trauma (mental and/or physical) during childbirth. Did you feel unsupported during childbirth? Did you feel unheard or felt a loss of control? Have you been grieving your birth experience? You deserve support. Birth trauma is based on your perception of the experience\, and no formal diagnosis is needed to join this group. Some common symptoms\, but not all\, that can occur after birth trauma are upsetting memories\, avoiding talking about the event\, and having negative thoughts/feelings about the event. BIPOC birthers can also experience trauma related to racism\, discrimination\, oppression\, and specific cultural views and beliefs. This group is a place to discuss these experiences with other BIPOC birthers and facilitators. You can be at any point post-delivery\, from 1-week to many years. This group is specifically focused on birth trauma and connecting with others\, so you can know that you are not alone\, and you are not to blame. While your story has so much value\, in this space we will not explore birth story details as they could be triggering to others. We encourage you to reach out to a licensed healthcare provider to process your birth story.  In this group\, we will discuss the effects of trauma\, our emotions\, and coping skills. \nThis group is not for: \n\npartners or non-birthing parents\nthose who experienced a pregnancy or infant loss (please join one of our loss groups for support)

SUMMARY:Strong As A Mother: Finding strength and support through pregnancy and infant loss
DESCRIPTION:The death of a child is not something any mother should have to endure. The guilt and shame that a grieving mother carries after the loss of her child\, no matter the gestation or age\, is incredibly isolating and not meant to be carried alone. This group will provide support in sharing stories\, ways we can honor our babies as we carry on with our lives\, how to respond to tough questions in social situations\, support through pregnancy after loss (PAL)\, and everything that bubbles up in between. \nEvery 4th Tuesday\, 6-7pm. Led by Elizabeth Stout. \n

SUMMARY:Pregnancy and Postpartum Psychosis Support for Survivors (Moms and Birthing People)
DESCRIPTION:Monday’s at 4:30 PM PT/ 7:30 PM ET\n\n\nWe invite those who are no longer in active psychosis and in recovery to join for support\, so that you can experience connection and support from other Pregnancy and Postpartum Psychosis (PPP) Survivors. This group is intended for those who are in recovery (no longer experiencing psychosis). Because PPP occurs less often than other perinatal mood disorders\, survivors can go their whole lives without meeting another PPP survivor. In response\, PSI has created an online peer-to-peer support group for PPP survivors. Like so many mental health emergencies\, symptoms and individuals vary greatly\, but PPP is generally marked by a loss of touch with reality. This can include symptoms such as mania\, hallucinations\, paranoia\, and/or delusions. If you are looking for more information on PPP\, please visit this webpage.  Whether your PPP experience was relatively recent or years ago\, you are welcome to attend our free\, online peer-to-peer support group. Our online groups are here to help you connect with other parents\, talk about your experience\, and learn about helpful tools and resources. If you are still experiencing psychosis or a mental health emergency\, we encourage you to reach out to 988.

SUMMARY:Support for Parents of High Needs Babies
DESCRIPTION:4th Tuesday of the Month 12:30PM EST/ 9:30AM PST \nLed by trained peer facilitators\, this group is for parents of “high need” newborns to 12-month-old babies. All babies have needs and depend on their caregivers\, yet some babies have more needs than others. “High needs baby” is not a medical term or diagnosis\, but it is a term used to describe babies with some of these characteristics: constant crying (for several hours in a row)\, difficult to soothe\, and easily overstimulated. A highly sensitive or high-needs baby might not sleep without being held\, might cry for three hours every evening\, or might get restless and frustrated when transitioning from one environment to another. We know that parents of “colicky” or high-needs babies can feel isolated\, exhausted\, and overwhelmed. You are not alone\, and we are here to help.  Crying babies are welcome too! \nIf you are looking for a group for parenting a medically fragile baby or child\, please check out our group specifically for those parents. \n\n\nRegister for a Support Group Here

SUMMARY:Single Perinatal Parent Support
DESCRIPTION:1st & 3rd Thursdays at 1PM (EST) or 7PM (EST) \nSingle parenthood is challenging\, especially during pregnancy and postpartum (perinatal period). Led by trained peer facilitators\, this group is for perinatal single parents who are widowed\, divorced\, or never married or partnered with their co-parent\, but they are caring for a baby (up to two years old) without a partner in their home. We know that single parents face unique challenges and obstacles that put them at a higher risk for experiencing depression\, anxiety\, and feelings of overwhelm during the pregnancy and postpartum\, so this group is a space dedicated to discussing those specific challenges and finding support from those in similar situations. Having feelings of chronic low energy\, anxiety\, or sadness as a single parent may feel like the norm\, but there are options for support. You are not alone\, and we are here to help.
