DESCRIPTION:Monday’s at 4:30 PM PT/ 7:30 PM ET\n\n\nWe invite those who are no longer in active psychosis and in recovery to join for support\, so that you can experience connection and support from other Pregnancy and Postpartum Psychosis (PPP) Survivors. This group is intended for those who are in recovery (no longer experiencing psychosis). Because PPP occurs less often than other perinatal mood disorders\, survivors can go their whole lives without meeting another PPP survivor. In response\, PSI has created an online peer-to-peer support group for PPP survivors. Like so many mental health emergencies\, symptoms and individuals vary greatly\, but PPP is generally marked by a loss of touch with reality. This can include symptoms such as mania\, hallucinations\, paranoia\, and/or delusions. If you are looking for more information on PPP\, please visit this webpage.  Whether your PPP experience was relatively recent or years ago\, you are welcome to attend our free\, online peer-to-peer support group. We know that single parents face unique challenges and obstacles that put them at a higher risk for experiencing depression\, anxiety\, and feelings of overwhelm during the pregnancy and postpartum\, so this group is a space dedicated to discussing those specific challenges and finding support from those in similar situations. Having feelings of chronic low energy\, anxiety\, or sadness as a single parent may feel like the norm\, but there are options for support. There is no definition or level of being “enough South Asian.” All pregnant and postpartum moms who have a biological\, familial connection to South Asia (India\, Bangladesh\, Bhutan\, Pakistan\, Nepal\, Sri Lanka\, & Afghanistan) are welcome. Our online groups are here to help you connect with other parents\, talk about your experience\, and learn about helpful tools and resources. Whether you are going through stress\, adjustment to parenting\, baby blues\, or pregnancy or postpartum depression/anxiety\, our groups are here for you. This training covers key concepts and practices in the prevention\, identification and treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs)\, as well as how to link parents to support and treatment. In this training we will discuss the risk factors\, etiology\, and symptomatology of PMADs\, high risk populations for experiencing PMADs\, medication in the perinatal period\, screening tools\, effective referral\, and resource and referrals. Community discussion for each county will be held in the afternoon. \n  \nDate: November 17\, 2023 \nTime: 9am-5pm PST \nLocation: Zoom \nCost: FREE \nTrainer: Michelle Anderson\, LMHC\, PMH-C \nLearning Objectives:\nUpon completion of this training\, participants will be able to: \n\nLearn about the Spectrum of Perinatal Mental Health\nScreen a parent for risk factors leading to perinatal mood and anxiety disorders by identifying at least four risk factors.\nScreen a parent for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders by identifying at least three symptoms.\nDescribe medications used during pregnancy and breastfeeding to treat perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.\nLearn about local resources for new parent support.\n\nContinuing Education: \n\n6.5 CEU’s approved for LICSWs\, LMHCs\, and LMFTs.\nThis Program has been approved for 6.5 CEUs for Licensed Social Workers\, Mental Health Counselors and Marriage and Family Therapists by the Washington State Society for Clinical Social Work.\n6.5 Contact hours available for RNs.
