DESCRIPTION:Open to WA state professionals leading perinatal mental health support groups in WA state. \nOne of the most important parts of creating community support groups is getting the word out to the people who most need it\, and helping the community to become familiar with the resource(s) being offered.  This training will help support group facilitators create a plan for promoting their groups\, come up with new and fresh ways to get information out\, and connect with others doing similar work to share ideas and brainstorm together.  We will cover topics like: print materials\, social media promotion\, how to network and connect with possible referring partners\, what information should be shared\, do’s & don’ts of promotion\, and other fun ideas\, skills\, and tools that can help get information OUT and attendees IN\, so that people can connect to the support being offered. \nDate & Time: Tuesday\, September 24th from 9:30am-12:30pm \nCost: FREE \nLocation: Zoom \nFacilitator: Crystal Gurney \nREGISTER HERE\nThis training does not provide any Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and will not be recorded. \nThis free training is available to WA state professionals working with families during the perinatal period and is offered by Perinatal Support WA through a grant from Strengthening Families Washington at the Department of Children\, Youth\, and Families (DCYF).

DESCRIPTION:Postpartum Support International\, a non-profit\, is committed to supporting all people during the perinatal period. We know and understand how challenging the perinatal season can be due to stress\, inherent discrimination in the system\, fluctuating hormones\, and other complicated feelings. We have a weekly support group\, Latinx Support every Thursday\, 1st & 3rd @ 4:30p; 2nd & 4th @ 12p\, PST. \nThis group is for anyone pregnant or postpartum (up to two years) and identifies as Latina\, Latinx\, or Latino. There is no definition or level of being “enough Latinx.” All are welcome who have a familial connection to Latinx culture. Our online groups help you connect with other parents\, talk about your experience\, and learn about helpful tools and resources. Whether you are going through stress\, adjustment to parenting\, baby blues\, pregnancy or postpartum depression/anxiety\, our groups are here for you. This group is in English\, so group members will benefit most if they can understand and speak some English (perfection is not required!). We do have Spanish-speaking groups as well\, which can be found here. We do not allow group observation by students or professionals.
