SUMMARY:Protecting the Perinatal Experience in the Time of Covid-19 - Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Presenter: Leslie Butterfield\, PhD \nThis webinar will address some of the particular stressors faced by perinatal providers and patients during this time of Covid-19. Emphasis will be placed on the ways in which grief and trauma may be experienced\, and how healing and cooperation may occur as both patients and providers gain a deeper understanding of one another’s current painful or frightening experiences. \n  \nRegistration Information: \nAdvanced registration for this event is required\, click here or on the website link below to register. Prior to the event you will be emailed the zoom link for the webinar. \nREGISTER TODAY\nLeslie Butterfield\, PhD is a clinical psychologist who specializes in pregnancy and postpartum issues. At her Seattle\, WA private practice she works with moms and couples struggling with pregnancy and neonatal loss\, the transition to parenthood\, pregnancy and postpartum mood disorders\, and birth related trauma.  Additionally\, she has designed and taught the counseling skills curriculum for Seattle Midwifery School and Bastyr Naturopathic Universitys Department of Midwifery for the past 15 years. \nIn her capacity as an educator\, Leslie has provided trainings and consultations to: University of Washington; Singapore KKH Hospital for Women; AWHONN(Association of Womens Health\, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses); Marce Society; PALS (Pacific Association of Labor Support); API (Attachment Parenting International)\, NAPS (Northwest Association for Postpartum Support)\, Catholic Charities\, Planned Parenthood\, and others.  Recently she has served on the board of PATTCh (Prevention and Treatment of Traumatic Childbirth) as Vice President\, and Perinatal Support Washington as the former chair and current board member. \n  \nThis free training is part of the Perinatal Mental Health Initiative Webinar Series provided by Perinatal Support Washington through a grant from Strengthening Families Washington at the Department of Children\, Youth\, and Families (DCYF).

SUMMARY:Intimacy and Sex in the Childbearing Year – An Evening Clinical Discussion
DESCRIPTION:This evening clinical meeting is an interactive presentation and discussion on the changes in intimacy and sex a couple face and how to support a couple during the perinatal period. \nTopics will include women’s physiological changes\, impact of the birth experience on the couples’ future intimacy\, rebuilding connection after the baby and discussion of skill building techniques to navigate the transition. \nThe Evening Clinical Meeting Series meets quarterly. Cost: $20.\nAttendance is free for Perinatal Support Washington members and volunteers.\n**This training is open to anyone working with families during the perinatal period.\n6:30pm Networking\n6:45- 8:30pm training \nSpeaker: Nancy Owens\, MA\, LMHC\, CST \nObjectives: \n\nTo understand the physiological changes of women in the postpartum period and how that impacts a couples intimacy.\nTo understand the impact of the birth experience on couples’ future intimacy.\nBe able to identify and explain skill building techniques to help a couple manage the change in intimacy after a baby.\n\nContinuing Education:\n1.75 CEUs approved for LICSWs\, LMHCs\, and LMFTs\n1.75 Contact hours are available for RNs \n“This Program has been approved for 1.75 CEUs for Licensed Social Workers\, Mental Health Counselors and Marriage and Family Therapists by the Washington State Society for Clinical Social Work.” \nProvider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing\, Provider Number 17084 for 1.75 contact hours.\nNancy Owen is a certified sex therapist and sex educator with a private practice in Kirkland\, WA\, With over 25 years experience working as a psychotherapist\, Nancy has a passion for helping adult couples and individuals achieve healthier\, more connected relationships with themselves and others.
