UW Partnership Access Line (PAL) for Moms
A free perinatal psychiatry consultation line
Open 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday- Friday
Any health care provider in Washington State can receive consultation, recommendations, and referrals to community resources from a UW psychiatrist with expertise in perinatal mental health.
UW faculty members consult on any mental health-related cases regarding patients who are pregnant, in the first year postpartum, or who have pregnancy-related complications (e.g. pregnancy loss, infertility).
Topics may include:
– depression, anxiety, or other psychiatric disorders
– adjustment to pregnancy loss, complications, or difficult life events
– risks of psychiatric medications
– non-medication treatments
Thanks to funding from the Washington State Health Care Authority, PAL for Moms is now open from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Faculty members are on call during this time for consultations and can be reached by calling (877) 725-4666. Providers can also e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a phone consultation.
Our perinatal psychiatrists are also available to help any practice thinking about instituting routine screening for depression. We can come to your clinic and provide a broad overview of best practices for depression screening and follow up in the perinatal period.
To learn more, please contact our perinatal navigator at email@example.com or (877) 725-4666.
