Loidaly se esfuerza por elevar las voces de los jóvenes y las familias en la investigación y aboga por las familias en todos los sistemas. \nLoidaly (Loy-duh-lee; she/ella) fell in love with birthing support during her first pregnancy journey. She believes labor is a time to tap into personal\, collective\, and ancestral power. She loves being able to hold space and find ways to elevate families internal support systems during a season of blooming. Bearing witness to the birth and rebirth of families in such a liminal time brightens her heart and sparks her passions. She has a PhD in Counselor Education and has been holding space for empathy in complexity for over 10 years. She is originally from Puerto Rico and is bilingual (Spanish-English). Loidaly believes that chosen families\, whatever they may look like\, should be the primary supports during the birthing process and focuses her doula work on empowering the collective unit. Outside of birthing\, Loidaly tends to the cycle of life through gardening\, floral arranging\, and being an active social justice activist in personal and professional spaces. \nLoidaly (Loy-duh-lee; ella/ella) se enamoró del apoyo perinatal durante su primer embarazo. Cree que el trabajo de parto es un momento para aprovechar el poder personal\, colectivo y ancestral. Le encanta encontrar formas de elevar los sistemas de apoyo internos de las familias durante una temporada de florecimiento. Ser testigo del nacimiento y renacimiento de las familias en un momento tan liminal ilumina su corazón y enciende sus pasiones. Tiene un doctorado en Educación de Consejeros y ha estado apoyando familias por mas de 10 años. Es originaria de Puerto Rico y es bilingüe (español-inglés). Loidaly cree que las familias elegidas\, sean cuales sean\, deben ser los principales apoyos durante el proceso de parto y centra su trabajo de doula en empoderar a la unidad colectiva. Fuera del parto\, Loidaly se ocupa del ciclo de la vida a través de la jardinería\, los arreglos florales y siendo una activista de la justicia social en espacios personales y profesionales. \nPerinatal Support Washington (PS-WA) es una organización estatal sin fines de lucro comprometida a arrojar luz sobre la\nsalud mental perinatal para apoyar a todas las familias y comunidades. DESCRIPTION:**REGISTRATION CLOSED** \nPerinatal Support Washington is partnering with Group Peer Support to offer a Group Peer Support Facilitator Training.  This is a specialized training program aimed at empowering individuals to lead perinatal peer support groups. \nOur training will equip facilitators to create confidential\, secure\, respectful\, and inclusive spaces where parents can genuinely and empathetically connect.  In GPS groups\, parents receive the essential support they need to thrive during the early months of parenting\, and facilitators gain the confidence to provide them with a much-needed support group experience. \nThis program focuses on creating inclusive and supportive environments for parents\, with an emphasis on evidence-based methods and culturally responsive support. \nGPS FACILITATOR TRAINING SPRING 2025  \nApril 1 – April 17\, 2025 \nTraining Objectives: \n\nA trauma-informed\, culturally responsive support group model that is easy to learn and implement in diverse settings\, with diverse populations\, and in multiple languages.\nHow to address the intersection of trauma\, racism\, poverty\, disparities\, cultural and gender identity\, as well as the COVID-19 pandemic\, with compassion\, transparency\, and skill.\nUnique trauma-informed skills to create environments of mutual respect\, non-judgement\, compassion\, and safety.\nHow to incorporate evidence-based approaches of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy\, Motivational Interviewing\, and Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction in groups.\nA strengths-based group approach that ensures an accessible\, welcoming\, and transformational group experience for all.\nHow to run groups that support\, empower and benefit not only the individuals and communities being served\, but the group facilitators as well.\n\nCost: A limited number of spots are available for WA state residents for a fee of $250. \nTRAINING SCHEDULE: \n\n\nLIVE attendance to 1 opening practicum is REQUIRED.\nOPENING PRACTICUM OPTIONS: 10:00 am – 12:30 pm PST \n\n04/01 Opening Practicum\n04/02 Opening Practicum\n04/03 Opening Practicum\n\nTRAINING MODULES: 10:00 am – 12:30 pm PST Attending training modules LIVE when possible is recommended. Lyndsey focuses on empowerment with self-compassion and acceptance through life adjustments associated with reproductive experiences like pregnancy\, infertility\, endometriosis\, pregnancy/infant loss etc. She uses her passion for writing blended with clinical expertise to create healing narrative therapy tools and help women tell their own stories. She provides training to direct care staff on women’s issues like perinatal mental health and domestic violence and anti-burnout wellness workshops. DESCRIPTION:Postpartum Support International\, a non-profit\, is committed to supporting all people during the perinatal period. We know and understand how challenging the perinatal season can be due to stress\, inherent discrimination in the system\, fluctuating hormones\, and other complicated feelings. We have a weekly support group\, Latinx Support every Thursday\, 1st & 3rd @ 4:30p; 2nd & 4th @ 12p\, PST. \nThis group is for anyone pregnant or postpartum (up to two years) and identifies as Latina\, Latinx\, or Latino. There is no definition or level of being “enough Latinx.” All are welcome who have a familial connection to Latinx culture. Our online groups help you connect with other parents\, talk about your experience\, and learn about helpful tools and resources. Whether you are going through stress\, adjustment to parenting\, baby blues\, pregnancy or postpartum depression/anxiety\, our groups are here for you. This group is in English\, so group members will benefit most if they can understand and speak some English (perfection is not required!). We do have Spanish-speaking groups as well\, which can be found here. We do not allow group observation by students or professionals. DESCRIPTION:Every Thursday\, Time Varies \n\n\n\nThis group is intended for those who have been actively trying to conceive for six months or longer. It is led by PSI-trained facilitators (each with lived experience with primary and/or secondary fertility challenges). \nStruggling with fertility issues can be a lonely experience and this group helps provide an avenue for healing and hope. Virtual \nJoin other self-identifying Dads and Fathers-to-be in this online support group\, hosted by a fellow Dad of three young kids. Wherever you are in the parenting journey\, from trying to get pregnant\, to caring for a newborn\, up through parenting a 2-year-old\, this group is for you. Share what’s challenging and find community and support from other guys who get it. This group is for you if you identify as a Dad and: \n\nThe transition to parenthood has been different or more difficult than you expected\nYou feel angry\, sad\, confused\, trapped or wish you could do more or make things better for your family\nYou are struggling in your relationship with your spouse or partner\nYou are concerned about your or your spouse/partner’s mental or physical health\nYour partner is unexpectedly pregnant or you are struggling to get pregnant\nYou had a traumatic birth\, have a baby in the NICU or your child or partner has other medical complications\nYou have lost a child before or after birth\n\nYou can expect a compassionate group of dads\, with lots of opportunities to listen and talk in a confidential and understanding space. \n
