Foundations in Perinatal Mental Health Training

New Format! This training has been redesigned into two convenient half-day sessions, offering an accessible and manageable way to learn about perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs). Participants will gain foundational knowledge and practical tools for the prevention, identification, and treatment of PMADs, as well as strategies for connecting parents to appropriate support and treatment.
The training covers PMAD risk factors, etiology, and symptoms; high-risk populations; medication considerations during the perinatal period, screening tools, effective referrals, and available resources and supports.

Learning Objectives:
- Learn about the Spectrum of Perinatal Mental Health
- Screen a parent for risk factors leading to perinatal mood and anxiety disorders by identifying at least four risk factors.
- Screen a parent for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders by identifying at least three symptoms.
- Describe medications used during pregnancy and breastfeeding to treat perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
- Learn about local resources for new parent support.
