Group Peer Support (GPS) Facilitator Training

Perinatal Support Washington is partnering with Group Peer Support (GPS) to offer a Group Peer Support Facilitator Training. This is a specialized training program aimed at empowering individuals to lead perinatal peer support groups.

This Spring, we are offering a specialized GPS Facilitator Training designed to equip individuals with the skills to lead perinatal peer support groups and foster meaningful connections among parents navigating the early months of parenting.

  • Practice facilitating authentic peer-to-peer connection
  • Skills to guide parents in sharing experiences and receiving emotional support
  • Evidence-based methods to build strong, nurturing groups
  • Confidence to lead impactful sessions that promote community healing and resilience

Who Should Attend
This training is ideal for:
● Peer supporters
● Perinatal professionals
● Community leaders
● Parents interested in facilitating support groups

Schedule:
This is a virtual training with live and recorded sessions.

Participants are required to attend / watch all sessions (modules) to complete the training and be certified GPS facilitators.

Some modules are live with required attendance and while others are recorded to watch on your own between sessions. 

Cost: A limited number of spots are available for WA state residents for a fee of $350.

Opening Practicum (live attendance required):

  • April 28 | 10:00am-12:30pm | Opening Practicum 

Live Modules – attendance highly encouraged, recordings will be available of the modules after the LIVE session

  • May 7 | 10:00am-12:30pm | Module 4: GPS Realities & Principles
  • May 13 | 10:00am-12:30pm | Module 6: GPS Reflective Listening, Weaving, Grounding & Closing 
  • May 14 | 10:00am-12:30pm | Applied Skills Session
