The Impact of Mindfulness on Perinatal Mental Health Webinar

This webinar will provide an overview of the current evidence-base for mindfulness interventions in the perinatal period. This will include a look at the types of interventions that have been studied, the benefits found for perinatal mental health and outstanding questions in the field. Lessons from the implementation of the NEW Moms Connect study at the University of Washington will also be discussed with a focus on the importance of adapting interventions to ensure access for all communities. This webinar is open to anyone working with families during the perinatal period.

Becca Calhoun, MPH is the training and evaluation specialist at the Center for Child and Family Well-Being, where she directed the NEW Moms Connect study, evaluating mindfulness and self-compassion interventions for pregnant and postpartum women facing economic adversity. In addition to her work at CCFW, Becca serves on the faculty of the Mindful Birthing and Parenting Foundation, providing training and mentoring for new mindfulness teachers.
