Perinatal Mental Health, Trauma Informed Care and Resilience for New Parents (Clallam or Jefferson Co Providers Only)

This one day training will provide an overview of perinatal mental health with a focus on trauma and trauma informed care.  This training is open to anyone working with families during the perinatal period in Clallam or Jefferson Counties.

  • COVID & Perinatal Mental Health
  • Trauma Informed Care
  • Supporting ourselves and our clients through resilience building.
  • Community Discussion led by Clallam Co Perinatal Mental Health Task Force

Contining Education:

  • 6.5 CEUs approved for LICSW, LMHC, LMFT
  • 6.5 Contact Hours approved for RNs
  • This Program has been approved for 6.5 CEUs for Licensed Social Workers, Mental Health Counselors and Marriage and Family Therapists by the Washington State Society for Clinical Social Work.
  • Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 17084 for 6.5 contact hours.

This free training is available to those living in or serving Clallam or Jefferson Counties and is offered by Perinatal Support WA through a grant from Strengthening Families Washington at the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF).

Heidi Koss, LMHC is a psychotherapist in private practice, serving individuals, couples and families, with an emphasis on pregnancy and postpartum mood disorders, birth trauma, as well as treating other related birth issues.

Heidi has contributed to the field of perinatal mental health in many ways over her career. She is the Co-Founder of the Northwest Association for Postpartum Support (NAPS). She served on the WA state leadership advisory committee for the Speak Up When Youre Down Postpartum Depression Awareness Campaign and has been an instructor at the Seattle Midwifery School for their PPMD course. She has collaborated on a PPMD training curriculum with the University of WA School of Nursing Infant Mental Health and Development Program and the Washington State Department of Health First Steps Division. She has been a Certified Postpartum Doula and Certified Lactation Educator for over twelve years, and the recipient of the prestigious DONA International Penny Simkin Award in 2006. Heidi is also the proud mother of 2 beautiful daughters.
